A CELT seminar with refreshments

Presented by Dr Clare Kell – CELT

This CELT seminar is open (and free) to USW Group staff and colleagues at partner colleges who teach or manage a USW-accredited course only.

This seminar is targeted at academic staff wishing to apply for Principal Fellow which is primarily for individuals who, as highly experienced academics, are able to provide evidence of a sustained and effective record of impact at a strategic level in relation to learning and teaching, as part of a wider commitment to academic practice – this may be within the institution or wider (inter)national settings.

Eligible academic staff might include:
highly experienced and/or senior staff with wide-ranging academic or academic-related strategic leadership responsibilities in connection with key aspects of teaching and supporting learning;
staff responsible for institutional strategic leadership and policy-making in the area of learning and teaching;
staff who have strategic impact and influence in relation to learning and teaching that extends beyond their own institution.

The USW Group is committed to achieving the highest quality of learning and teaching for its students. One external mark of the quality of the staff engaged in teaching and supporting learning is recognition as Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

This seminar will:
• Present the details of the USW Continuing Professional Development Scheme route to Principal Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy, including providing copies of the application procedures and walking prospective applicants through the process.

• Outline the structure upon which the Academy bases Principal Fellow recognition – the UK Professional Standards Framework.

Attending this seminar will enable prospective applicants to prepare submissions in good time for the next Panel meeting.
