Reflection and Observation of Practice Scheme (ROPS)

Event Date January 21, 2019 3 p.m. – 4 p.m.

Location – Glyntaff Aneurin Bevan AB106

Led by Prof Karen Fitzgibbon – FBS

ROPS is a peer-supported scheme designed to enable reflective conversations between colleagues about all aspects of academic practice. Colleagues wishing to undertake the role of Observer within the scheme are advised that they will need to attend a training session (dates below). These are one hour maximum and are mandatory. For colleagues who have previously undertaken Observer training, the sessions will act as a useful refresher of the scheme as well as new information on safeguarding and protected characteristics groups.
The resources to support the Scheme will be located on the CELT website and will include the Scheme Handbook, a series of ‘what if’ scenarios for observers and information on the use of Socratic questioning as an approach.
