Delivery of postgraduate courses focused on online learning, teaching and assessment for HE, FE and School based staff.
Management of externally funded projects on the use of technology enhanced learning, teaching and assessment.
Planning the Learning and Teaching Seminar Series in liaison with the rest of the CELT team and taking direct responsibility for the Technology Enhanced Learning Seminar arrangements.
To research the way that technologies can enhance learning, teaching and assessment
To use research to inform good practice in the use of technology enhanced learning, teaching and assessment at the University.
Catherine joined the University in 1991 having spent several years teaching English as a Foreign Language in Rome. She initially taught Italian and EFL in the Centre for Language Studies and HASS and between 1996 – 2001, was responsible for the University’s University-Wide language programme, the Unilang programme. In 2002, Catherine joined e-College Wales as an Instructional Designer, working with academic staff to develop online modules and awards in Business.
She joined CELT in 2007 and since then has spent some time on secondment to Rhondda-Cynon-Taff Local Authority to support their Moodle project and their 14-19 Strategy. In 2009 Catherine was also seconded to the Welsh Government as Schools ICT Manager.
